Networking is one of the single most important things you can do to grow your business. As a real estate investor, Local REIA's have proved to be very profitable. Now don't go selling yourself to the first person you shake hands with. Use any networking platform to share with other business owners exactly what it is that you do and what value you can provide them. I'll give an example. Last month I went to a REI networking meet up and mixed and mingled with almost everyone there. I passed out my business cards and shared my elevator pitch with each person. About a week later I received a call from an investor who states " I like all of the information you provided at the meet up, tell me more." So I did. Today this investor and I have put a 4 unit property under contract on a 50-50 partnership deal which I brought to the table. We are anticipating a closing date of early next month and if this goes well I can certainly see us doing business long term. Moral of the story is Meet new people and get new opportunities.
